Carrizal- Tegucigalpa Week 55

hey family!

This week was great, even though it was semana santa and hardly anyone was here (like literally everyone went south to thier pueblos and the beaches, it was kind of annoying) but! we ended the week off very great with 3 baptisms and confirmations. The baptism was pretty sweet, i directed the service and everything and Elder Chavez baptized the three of them, his first baptisms on the mission! Eduar, a 25 year old, this guy is awesome and is such a great convert. He was so chosen and prepared to receive our message, so great. We also  baptized enyell and emily, one is the daughter of a so/so member, but we have helped rejuvenate them about the Gospel. ANd enyell was a youth that has just been going to seminary on his own.

Butr yeah seen lots of blessings here even though it was kind of a hard week to find new people. We have like 3 or 4 dates coming up on april 9th, the members love us and we love them, its been great.
I guess the only downside is that elder chavez got really really sick, well is sitll sick with like chikungya or zika. Yesterday we just wenbt to church and then we went home and he just zonked out. But yeah church was great i got to confirm Eduar, and i learned a lot as week took the sacrament. I love the sacrament.

This week was also fun becase every morning we went at 6 to go play soccer with a vbunch of nearby youth at teh church. it was super fun, now every day have been waking up at 6 with out an alarm, kind of annoying haha. but yeah great week, and i hope elder chavez gets better so we can keep trabajando como negros esta semana jaja (haah that phrase everyone uses here i dont think its racist for them)

Conference this week
!!!!!! Get pumped ! my third confernce on the missino, kind of crazy. just one more after this one.

Well, love yall! I am really glad that andrea is alright, how scary!

Carrizal- Tegucigalpa Week 54

hey!

This week was another great week, even though we didnt have a baptism on this saturday, it turned out for the best because e now we have like 3 or 4 four this weekend. kinda a bummer because we were thinking we could get baptisms every saturday in our change here, but it turns out for the best because now we got her cousin to accept a date for this Saturday.

This week was filled with lots of meetings too, a big fat leaders meeting which was in the Country building, i got to see elder paz and elder gomez which was fun. but yeah we had  a zone meeting, that meeting, and district meeting g this week. learned a lot though.

We have really been having a lot of fun and working hard here elder chavez and I, and we have really been seeing a bunch of miracles. It has really been great, there has been opposition like always, but i really feel the Power of God and HIs spirit here in this area.

We have Eduar, who will be baptized this saturday, he is 25 years old and is AWESOME! he wants to serve a missino and has such a powerful testimony. were really pumped to take him to the temple because he had a dream about helping his brother who got killed a few years ago, and how he helped like with God, so we got to explain the doctrine of the temple, and wow he has great faith

I also did an interchange with elders in my district, i went to a place called ciudad espana. It was cool because they just opened their brand new chapel, its so great to see the church grow.

I guess the only thing we have to work on is to find people for the end of april. But yeah we have seen lots of miracles with the gente, yesterday God put us in a far part of our area where we had a contact, but he wasnt there, and then we decided to visit a member family, and they all were sick, with one being pregnant and having chikungya. We found out that this sister was praying that we would come to give them blessings, and yeah, God put us there as instruments in His hands. It was very spiritual, it feels so great to do what the Lord wants us to do.

Semana santa this week, lots of people are going to be gone, so it'll be a little hard this week. its raining right now.

I've been learning how to cook more stuff. but the members gave us more food this week, so thats sweet

I love you guys! Have a fun spring break!

Conference is almost here! Get ready!

This is our bathroom, you have to take in a bucket of water with you.  No running water.

Carrizal- Tegucigalpa Week 53

This week was AWESOME!!

So i got to my new area, its called jardines de Carrizal, its super awesome! its still here in the city, but kind of the outskirts. so it kind of feels like a pueblo it reminds me a lot of juticalpa. But yeah now we are in the city writing in a giant ciber with a bunch of missionaries haha elder dunn is sitting next to me.

Yeah so my new companion is Elder Chavez!!! He is super awesome! He just got finished being trained, so now he has like 4 months int eh mission. He is from el paso texas and he will be at Byu after the mission. So he speaks pretty good spanish already and loves to work.

This week we were super super busy!! It was awesome we just met all of the members and i just asked for references and we got a ton! We taught 13 lessons with members this week! and we brought 7 to church, and we put 4 baptismal dates! and this week we had a baptism, wehn i got there he had been going to church for like a month but the elders hadnt taught him yet, so we taught him all the lessons and his brother baptized him! And the baptism was super full! So that was sweet to see Emerson is really great  he is 15 years old lives right in front of the church. The church here is pretty nice, it is a ward but way way smaller than country. But i like it a lot more. The Area is GIGAntic, there used to be 3 companionships here a long time ago but now its just us.

Only minor problems here is that we have to wash our clothes, theres no running water, and none of the members give us food... hahah but elder chavez has been teaching me a bunch of new stuff to cook! THis change is going to be awesome! We have a baptism planned this Saturday and the next and the next too. We are just so dang busy haha its awesome, we hardly had any time at all to contact. which is good actually because we are working so efficient.

Yeah we are just seeing the awesome miracles of ready people that God has prepared and just the blessings of being obedient. I love it.

I hope you have a great week! General Conference is coming up!!

Family Martinez from Country- Norlan is on my left.

Tegucigalpa Week 52

aaaaaand!

still dont know if i have changes or not, the zone leaders aren't going to tell us until lunch.

And this week we taught an old guy hes like 70 years old we found 2 weeks ago, he wants to be baptized and we took him to church on Sunday which was cool. But he didnt really like i think, it was a giant multi stake conference in all of central america. And we got to hear from Neil Anderson!! Dude and he spoke in Spanish, which was really cool! because he doesnt really know any spanish, he served his mission in france and lived in brazil for four years. But yeah he talked about the starting of the temple in the Congo, and the explosion of the church there! And he talked about hte importance of the Boook of Mormon.

Oh! And before the satellite transmission started they sustained all of the new melchizek priesthood holders in the stake, and Marvin and Norlan received it! Super awesome they are sweet converts so proud of them.
other things that happened this week.... found a guy who was in canada in 2000 and he showed us this old book of mormon that the elders had given him way back then. the book was one of the old versions really interesting. And he was super positive, the only problem is that he smoke like 5 cigarettes in the lesson and has like 3 woman.
With all the preparation for the stake conference this week setting up chairs and stuff i got to see elder paz again that was super fun haha.

what else¡? oh it rained last night.

Oh and mangos are back!!!!!!! WOo!! eating mangos reminds me of my training its super crazy it feels like yesterday i was in comayagua.

Well i love yall and the church is true, who knows what happens with the changes!

Love, Elder Wagner

PS:  Dude they told me! Im going to Carrizal as district leader!!  im going with elder hernandez he was in my district in the CCM! Woo!

Loving the packages from home!

Tegucigalpa Week 51

yeah!

i got 2 huge packages this week]!!!! Thanks Jacquie and Mom! oh and the glasses are sweet thanks mom now i'm good for the eye situation, guess i should've told y'all earlier, before the Christmas Skype. but yeah love the chocolate and everything. the fruit snacks always disappear so fast. i think as going away gifts i'm gonna give everyone in the area the twixs or something.

This week was alright, with the highlight being that i got to go on interchanges with elder meads in their area, it was super awesome, their area was great, even though it was super small they work so efficiently there wiht the members. I really hope i can get a solid companion to hustle and work like that. Oh yeah transfers are next week, next tuesday,, woo! haha im going to miss this area for sure (well i really have no idea whats going to happen but..... i really shouldnt count my eggs before they hatch though) yeah this area is awesome! Norlan and Marvin are going to get the Melchizek Priesthood!!!!! So sweet to see how theyve progressed, seriously the best converts, yeah the real awesome thing is that they are paying their tithing, whcih is the thing that usually impedes someone to get the Melchizek Priesthood. So yeah it is so cool to see how theyve changed.

Right now the area isnt looking so great, mostly because my companions tooth continued to hurt this week, but thats okay!

We also went to the temple this week with investigators. But we didnt enter. It was cool though, it is so quiet on the temple grounds and is so easy to feel the Spirit. I love the temple. I wonder when we will be able to enter again for sessions ¿?

Alright well thanks for the emails and packages!!!
Have a great week!

Love Elder Wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 50

Hey!

Sorry for writing so late! Its because my companion went to the dentist to day and we were there ALL day! hahaha it was cool though because these dentists are from the states they attend missionaries and basically all of the pre-missionaries for their dental stuff. i got to talk with missionaries from the tegucigalpa mission and a bunch of gringos, i was kind of forgetting English haha. but yeah we had to cross over to the other mission to this office.

i hit the year mark in Honduras! crazy to think that a year ago i arrived and went with elder bingham, the chapel we we arrived is really close here.

Weird culture thing... on like all of the fruits here they put salt/spice on it! like on oranges and watermelons. its really annoying actually.

ON thursday we had a stake lunch with the stake president and all of the missionaries from the stake. Elder Paz is in the stake but is in another zone, so that was super fun to see him and talk to him. I really miss him haha super fun times in juticalpa. hes training now so technically i'm a grandpa now.

Also, on friday before our reunion de distrito we had interviews with President!! Safe to say that my interview with president ferman was awesome, one of the most spiritual moments of mty life. One of the things he told me and was explaining me was that The Lord called me to be in this time and place. Not president ferman or the assistants, but the Lord. Sometimes in life we often forget that our callings literally come from The Lord, and we have to realize that and follow through, no matter how hard it can be. I felt the calming healing power of the Atonement, and I know that my President is an inspired man of God with the authority to call and choose. And that is how the whole church functions.

Had a couple people in church, the mom and her kid who has been going to seminary, but the husband doesnt want anything to do with us, which kindof sucks. This week i have high hopes in bringning more people to church.

We also surprised the sisters with KFC at the church, when they had though it was interviews with presidente. that was fun. and delicious. and it really animated the sisters to work harder and now they have 5 fijo baptismal dates.

Well good week, challenigng but Heavenly Father is on my side.

Love you all very much!

love,
Elder Wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 49

hey family!

Loved the pictures mom, sounds like you had a great time.

Learned a lot this week, and i really think it went way better even though we only had one investigator in church on sunday. Like a couple days this week we were pretty united after i would just comment how great my companion was.

But more than that i could really see a bunch of miracles this week. THe days where it was only me talking in the contacts and lessons and everything were really great, in our path i would pray really intensly to knnow what door to contact. ANd every door/person that i felt impressed to talk to were really positive and we are going to go wiht these people thsi week. I just know and have a really really powerful testimony that God is always there and He answers our prayers.

We have still been working in this one little street in this nieghborhood called the Iberia, where there have come out pretty much all o fthe baptisms i have had here in Country. Its pretty sweet, we put a few more baptismal dates (but they didnt come to church :/) but we are going to continue to work wiht them. They like to play marbles in the dirt in front of their houses.

Oh! Norlan, the convert that me and elder gomez baptized in november got married to a member! So that was cool! Maybe you saw pictures from belinda. But yeah he is doing good, i know that they can get sealed now in a year (or is it a year from the baptism of norlan? idk im not sure how that works)

Sunday we got to watch like 2 hours worth of the sabbath day training videos form the apostles, that was cool. And in sacrament meeting the bishop read a  letter from the 1st presidency about gay marriage, and basically everyone was looking at me like the States is the problem because its legal here.

Well thanks for the thoughts and prayers! Im really going to try and finsih out strong here in country!! i love the missionary work here!

Cooking breakfast for the zone!

Tegucigalpa Week 48

hey family,

thanks mom and dad for fasting, i sure felt like someone was with me yesterday, very comforting as i took the sacrament.  The zone leaders and president have been helping me out. i think we have interviews with presidente this week

but yeah on saturday we had 3 baptisms yay! but now we dont have anyone on date. but the baptism was super awesome we got a bunch of people to come i think it was the baptism with the most people i've ever had on my mission . So yeah they're youth from a street where there's a bunch of members. a brother and a sister 16 years old and 13 and a friend who is 14. This week they have been going to seminary every day (woo!) and yeah it has been great. The parents came too, but yeah the parents of the siblings the dad is missing a leg and they dont really want to get married. But yeah now we have been going out to contact and visit with gerardo and andres its super fun and i think we found a family that we can put fechas with.

We also ahd an awesome spiritual find at night, where we had prayed where to go at night to find someone, and we found a lady named suyapa she was praying for guidance and the lesson was super powerufl even though in the other room people were drinking and stuff. Defintiely i have seen the Lords hand here, even though it has been hard.

Also we have a sick stake mission leader he served in santa ana el salvador haha he knows emily but yeah he has been giving us references to his family who arent members.

Thank you for your prayers, i sure have felt them. The Gospel is true, and the Lord has great and higher purposes, even though we don't exactly know all of them.

Love you!

Tegucigalpa Week 47

hey family!

I got the third package with all of the contacts and stuff! this new contact solution is groovy i like it my eyes are super happy now

ON tuesday we went to a multizone conference in comayagua! it was super crazy that we went there usually they do all of the meetings here in tegucigalpa but we went there! it was so strange being back there its so hot and it brought back lots of memories. i sure do want to go back and see how that family we married is doing. But yeah we learned a lot

We have 3 baptisms this Saturday they are 16 year olds it has been fun we have been taking them contacting with us and it really helps and is a fun different way to do the missionary work. plus they are really pumped to serve missions too. We want to get their parents but the dad is missing a leg so kinda hard to get to church.

Also kind of got sick this week with who knows what haha i had like a fever of 102 a couple of nights. and like my arms and legs and chest were red. They think it might be chinkungya or sica (Zika)... idk but we have still been going out to work, so not that big of a deal. Plus i am always ready because i have so much medicine in my maleta its nice.

Well thorughout the hard times this week i turned to the Boook of Mormon and to Heavenly Father this week. They literally are always there, and through them, and through the Spirit, we can be comforted and be given guidance.

Have a good week!

Tegucigalpa Week 46

hello

so yeah we had changes this week, elder gomez went far away to siguatepeque, and I got Elder Dominguez, from Peru. He entered the mission field when i entered the mtc.

HOwever! I am doing good we had a great day yesterday we brought like 3 sixteen year oldss to church we have dates on the 6th for them, and we gave the sisters the sisters of them,
Oh and both companionships of sisters are training this change, o sea there are two brand new sisters in my district haha. But they have come with great energy so we are all doing great!

I GOT TWO GIANT PACKAGES THANKS MOM

Dude i have already eaten like 5 ding dongs and all of the fruit snacks.. whoa and a bunch of white shirts! haha now im good for the rest of the mission, dont worry about getting me more haha:) i guess the only thing in the future are just ties,,, ive been giving my ties to my converts here

On wednesday we had a sick worldwide missionary broadcast we got to here from neil anderson, bednar, waddell, uh oaks and whitney clayton. super awesome learned a lot. Teach repentance and baptize converts! They said it was like the 1st worldwide missionary conference in a decade.

Oh yeah it has gotten crazy cold!! one night they said it got down to 11 celsius which is like 51 degreees at night,, i finally finally pulled out that orange blanket mom that was shrink packaged, haha it was getting a little chilly at night. but i guess it really hasnt been THAT cold... but it sure feels cold here.

But yeah had a great week we foudn a family yesterday as we went contacting yesterday with our investigators who are getting baptized the 6th! so that was cool haha

I love you guys! I also love the Gospel, and I hope we can all keep progressing in the Gospel, just a little better each day.

Love,
Elder Wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 45

hello.}

It was a good week this week we started off with a big blessing, a guy we have been teaching finally brought his wife to church! it was a ward family home evening super awesome, i really feel like we will be doing a wedding in February. Also, this week we have been teaching a crap ton of jovenes in the Iberia, where all of our converts live. Marvin has been helping out a lot, and we ended up having 8 in church! It was crazy! Sunday sure was busy, and we have 2 on dates for the 6th, and a more for hte 13. the only problem is that a few have some addictions, but we are helping them. They are all super pumped to serve missions like us haha.

I love this ward. We have been receiving lots of references too.
We also got to baptize a single mom and her daughter, from the sisters in my district. like a month ago she showed up to her baptism, but she didn't want to. But now everything went well! I baptized her and her daughter. IT was good the sisters are in a littler branch in a huge rich part of the city.

I also taught one of their investigartos who will be baptized this week, i taught her completley in english! it was kind of hard but fun haha to teach in english.

Well the Church is true everyone! Hold to the Rod, the word of God, study the scriptures, and teh Lord will bless us with peace and direction in our lives.

Love, Elder Wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 44

hey family! and friends

Welp this week was a good week, hit the year mark this week! i burnt a really nasty tie that was so dirty in celebration. so that was fun. i also ordered a pizza just for me.

Other than that yesterday was good we have been really getting marvin and norlan ready to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead. and marvin has been helping us, with a baptismal date we have, his name is kevin. He still has his problem, but i think he can quit it and be baptized. He really wants to be a missionary like us. He doesn't read that well though, which is kind of sad, its a testament to how bad the public education is here.

The wife of the stake president literally made us a huge apple pie. so that made my day, it was super delicious. We also had a sweet like family home evening bday party, only with the men of the ward, and we brought our investgator alexis. It was super spiritual, the only thing with alexis is his wife is a little duro but they're going to get baptized in February, because we have to marry them and missionaries now cant use their own money to help, so we have to do a fundraiser and sell popcorn and donuts stuff like that.

Taught my english class again, this week, it was pretty crazy there was a bunch of crazy men in there one was straight up crossed eyed trying to speak in english and the other kept on standing up talking and yelling. Who knows if ill keep giving them lots of interesting people are showing up haha. but it was super fun good opportunity to show the people the church

wELL love yall!

Tegucigalpa Week 43

Happy new year!

wow this week i complete the year mark! super crazy i think i am going to order a pizza that night or something. but yeah the time sure is flying. This week was alright, it was basically impossible to work the 31st and the 1st, but that's okay. new years here was exactly like the 24th and 25th.

and we kind of received a giant bummer sandwich this week, we had an investigator who was going good for baptism this saturday, he had stopped smoking for a week, but then the 31st he drank and smoked an entire packet of cigarros. and he felt so bad and discouraged that now he doesn't want anything to do with us, but oh well we will keep working with a good spirit!

Since Marvin has been back we have been working with him, and he has been showing us a bunch of his friends, and he came to church with his friend kevin and we challenged him to baptism in the church! so that was a cool blessing, we had been fasting and praying for a baptismal date, because Oscar had fallen. So that was definitely a tender mercy from padre celestial. }

We found a golden family that is ready for the gospel, and they were going to come to church this sunday, but then their dang granddaughter was born Saturday night! haha we were pretty bummer, but hopefully this week they can come.

but yeah that was pretty much it, this transfer is starting to wind down, the changes are the 19th. elder gomez is a good guy, we have been working well together.

nothing much else... oh this week we found a super interesting family that are like hindi/buddhist, but at the same time they believe in the bible and in Jesus Christ. krisna i think it was called. but yeah.

okay well happy new year! hope y'all have made great resolotuinos and plan to follow through with them! One of my metas is to develop a really really great relationship with padre celestial. I also want to take advantage of every day here, the time is going by too fast.

Alright well love you all! hAVE a great week!

Tegucigalpa Week 42

Good week it was great to talk to you all! this time was way better. i think last time i got super homesick but this time nothing at all! which was great! but yeah it was great to see you all time really has been flying by.

But yeah like i was saying Christmas here was absolutely nuts. And it was pretty hard for the obra misional too. Like the 24th all day everyone started drinking and all day they are setting off fireworks (cuetes) and it felt like we were in a war zone iit was nuts. But yeah it sure didn't feel like Christmas at all, really sad actually. Couldn't sleep at all because music was blasting all night from the apartment above and below. And they light off these dinamte sticks which are crazy super loud, and rushes of air would enter into our apartments it was nuts. And then the 25th it was like a ghost town. But yeah we ate lot lots of food, torejas and nacatamales (basically tamales) . ANd grapes and apples. But people have been telling us that the 31st is going to be even crazier, which kinda sucks because these party things really slow down the work. But i imagine in January the field will be ripe.

ON sunday the temple president of honduras gave a talk in our ward it was super awesome. He talked of the stories of how the members would have to travel a week to get to the temple in arizona. Then of like 5 days to mexicol. Then of the day trip´to Guatemala. He talked of those faith building experiences of saving up to go for a weary travel trip. And then he gave us some really interesting statistics, of how MORE people from outside of tegucigalpa are coming to the temple than from the people super close. because he told of how pueblos from nicargua making thee sacrifices to come here, and the members here just take the tempmle here for granted. It was really great talk.

What else? oh really funny there is this fat white guy super shy who served his mission here 11 years ago and got a girlfriend here. Haha its really pathetic but i guess its good hes still trying.

Oh and my convert Marvin got here from San Pedro! He is so strong! We are going to have a sick week this week talking to all of his friends and stuff.

Well I love you guys! The mission is awesome!

Elder Wagner talking with his family- Christmas Day 2015

Tegucigalpa Week 41

This week was crazy first we had the mission Christmas activity with half of the mission there. but elder paz wasn't there i still haven't seen him since i left him (haha he has called me a couple of times tho). but yeah the activity was super weird we got to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 ( i was pretty bummed because last year they watched frozen) but I laughed so much during that movie holy cow it entertained me so much. but then i felt super bad because of all the worldly things that were in the movie.
On Friday we had a crazy day, because the night before we started to fast because our 3 baptismal dates fell so we were fasting, then we had district meeting, and then I had to interview the two dates the sisters had. basically we ended up fasting for ever and we were so weak, but then we returned to our area, and went back up (because where the sisters are they are like on top of this mountain thingy) and the lady and her daughter showed up to the baptism but then they didn't want to anymore. It was crazy and the sisters were crying it was nuts. it was hard for them because their area is hard and they had a bunch of members at the baptism waiting the font was full. crazy stuff. but yeah later our three dates for this Saturday accpeted otra vez, so much power in the fast.

On church we had the primary program like 238 peopel came it was crazy full the kids are so awesome and spiritual. It was a good day, only a little bad because i had a crazy bout of diarrhea satruday night i hardly didnt sleep. but now i'm better. but yeah we had 6 inv in the church, things are going well.

Hope you have a great festive week! super jealous about star wars!

love you all!

love elder wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 40

o sea, you gotta GRAB THE BULL BY THE HORNS! hahah that phrase came into my mind as i studied diligencia this week, i love when i get sweet revelation like that.

But yeah, we didn't have changes this week! so me and elder gomez are here together until January for sure! so that was pretty cool, one of the sisters got changed so things are going pretty good here in country.

Also! I got two packages this week! One from Mom and one from Rissa! yippee! i love the memory stick with the talks and the music! except elder gomez doesn't like them because he cant understand the talks, but i've been teaching him English little by little

This week i really just felt the incluence of the Spirit on my life here. I have been counting my blessings and writing them down every day, its crazy how the Lord blesses me.

But yeah we had a good week 6 people came to church! And president ferman spoke in our ward, so that was cool. But yeah we have 3 baptism for the 26 from a less active family and i think we are going to baptize a family in January! but we have to marry them and the problem is that now us missionaries we cant pay for the wedding, so we have to do fundraisers (which is good because the family sees the sacrifice and it motivates them) . But yeah not much else happened this week.

trying to think of what else happened this week...

well, hope you have a great Christmas final week! Christmas will be strange here, everyone says like the 24th is a crazy holiday and everyone is drinking and there's fireworks, i think we enter the house super early that day.
But yesh thanks so much for the packages! Ive been giving slim jims to investigators and members, they think they are so weird! haha. perhaps an idea for packages is chocalate. chocolate is super expensive here and the people love it! haha

okay well love y'all! have a fantastic week! make sure to read your scriptures every day and your daily prayers, it will help in the long run! and immediately too!

Love, Elder Wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 39

Hey Family!

Had another good week, and we have two baptisms this week! Marvin, a 28 year old guy who has really turned it around and adrian a 9 year old kid from a less active family.

After we wrote we played like 3 hours of basketball with all of the gringos here it was super fun like they're so many elders here in the city got to see elder dunn. Also, this week i learned it is WAY harder to contact here. The people in Juticalpa were so so nice and everyone would let us in, so there i learned to be super direct with the people to figure out who. But here, super dificil. but luckily the memebrs are so good here we have been getting lots of references. Also we met witht eh stake president last night to talk about teh missionary work and we have this sick movie nighgt planned for navidad and i think we are going to invite presdient ferman and we are also going to have lessons in the house of the stake presdiente and with our bishop. Through this way, we will really gain the confidence of all of the members. ON saturday i had interchanges with myZL elder Thorn! It was super awesome i learned so much and he is super cool.

Oh yeah i guess a little more about elder gomez, he is super chill, still learning and stuff, but yeah super chill doesnt get mad and wants to work. He is from guatemala and he has crossed the border 3 times, all unsuccessfully resulting in deporting flights from houston to guatemala. haha but hes super cool.

oh hey are we like at war with siria? Everyone and their mom here are saying that I am at war with siria. its weird not knowing the news and stuff.

Oh and today we went to Picaccho!! It is this giant Jesus statue on top of this mountatin that overlooks teguc its super cool! its in the other mission but we got permission, i wonder if cole ever went? but yeah it was crazy to see the airplanes land and cool to see all of our churches with teh white pointy points. and teh temple.
We also reread the dedicatory prayer that Elder Nelson gave in 1991 at that same spot, and then we read our mission letter calls. Super spiritual and quiet up there, and it reminded me so much of my experiences in the mountains in young mens.

Have a great week!
Love yall!
Elder Wagner

Tegucigalpa Week 38

Hey family!

This week was a good week, with a baptism! Super awesome, and there's more coming! Its been awhile since my last baptism, so that was nice, but it was a little crazy because he showed up 4 hours late lol but everything turned out okay, he{s come to church now 8 weeks in a row and has left behind alcohol and smoking, which is super duper! haha.

I really like this ward, and i really have fallen in love with  doing noche de hogar with everyone. Since we eat a lot here, i have extra money to buy ice cream for the family home evenings, which everyone loves (including me haha,, i bought this Neapolitan ice cream and the people here love it but i just couldnt help but remember the experiences we've had with Neapolitan ice cream haa with dad lol.

But yeah a we had a sweet NDH with a menos activo family, and they have 4 daughters who are above 8 years old and arent baptized, and they came to church!!!! And Marvin is doing great, going to be baptized on the 28th, along with a couple of others.

People here already have their christmas trees up and going and christmas lights, which is fun. this rich family gave us cinnamon rolls last night holy crap it was so delicious and they gave us hot chocolate because now its winter here apparently haha

oh yeah mom the lady who facebooked you is a recent convert she gave us the referecne of norlan who we baptized.
I ve really learned a lot about patience this week with teh hermanas, it seems theyre always sick, but thats okay.

cant think much of what else happened this week. We're really gonna start working for december!

A cool thing to imagine what Elder Duncan told us is to imagine stakes where there are only wards. It really helps us to imagine and to have to vision to have lots of success. Can you imagine a stake in the olive knolls ward? crazy stuuff.

But yeah solid week love yall! This work is true!

Tegucigalpa Week 37

hey peeps!

Solid week, i love the ward here! Bunches and bunches of referecias, and we have a baptism this saturday! Norlan, 18 years old, its dope! We are really encouraging him to prepare for a mission.
Also, we put a date with Marvin, who just separated from his wife, he is 28 years old, super awesome, he knows a lot because he was in a bunch of other churches, but yeah!

What else happened?
Oh yeah, Elder Kevin R. Duncan, the president fo the central american presidency area vino! It was super awesome, we learned a crapton! These men seriosuly are servants of the Lord and tehy are called from God. He really animated us to have a bunch of progressing investigadores and to envision a stake, where there are only branches. But yeah super great.

We also did a super cool activity where we put a table in the middle of a neighborhood with a bunch of pamphlets and liahonas and we just contacted a bunch. It actually worked really well! This one dude who lived in frisco texas that i had contacted came to church! And this week we are going to start the english classes, which will really help us to have more and more investigators.

Church is super awesome here, we don't have to teach sunday school or priesthood, which is awesome because we can just worry about the investigators making friendships with members. Although thsi sunday the power was out all morning, so we had a church without lights (imagine that back home) luckily the chruches here have windows

What more?
Oh Elder Duncan showed us this video of missionaries in guatemala who shared a message with a member family, and then went and knocked their neighbors doors with the family, contacting them and inviting them to  a family home evening (i had thought the video was fake because the neighbors were so positive) But we decided to do this with a recent convert family and holy crap it worked! References are so awesome!

My birthday was good, that was the day Marvin accepted his baptismal date. A family bought me a donut and sang to me happy birthday, so that was fun. this ward is great.

I hope everyone has a great week, filled with work, studies, and of course daily prayer adn scripture study:)

I love yall!

Love, Elder Wagner

p-s. the water here is SO COLD holy crap it takes a lot of willpower to shower in the mornings,

and a member washes our clothes for free, so thats nice. but we have to dry the clothes. maybe i should wash my sheets

Tegucigalpa Week 36

Hey family!!

I really loved all those photos form the funeral.

I have had a pretty crazy week this week, filled with LOTS of change!! so last Monday was my last day with elder paz we put two fechas with two familias there, super dope, i was pretty bummed to leave juticalpa. And on tuesday, all of the missionaries who had changes we all met up at the capilla at the temple! it was super cool to see all of my buddies, like elder dunn and just a bunch of other missionaries. So now i am here in the city! The city is nuts! Its completely different! I am here with elder gomez, he is from guatemala and he came in the same group as elder paz. But yeah its like all concrete here pretty ugly, but not as hot, which is nice. the water in the morning here is super freezing But yeah the barrio here is super strong, i look forward to working off of references here, we already put a baptismal date with a solid reference, and about 200 people assist here. (it felt like our ward back home, just without the cultural hall. So there are lots of new people to meet here. And they give us so much food!! and today we are writing late because we played soccer in a 5 zone soccer tourney thingy, it was like half the mission! so many missionaries! Tegucigalpa is crazy becasue all of the other missionaries are here super close. Also, I got called as district leader as weell, pretty crazt, and my district its just hermanas (so me and my comp, and two sister companionships) they do try my patience sometimes haha, and theyre all latinos except me haha. but I really have been learing a lot with all of this change. Pretty crazy stuff.

the barrio is called Country. We have this huge 2 story church it is dope. (Also mom don't worry about the danger here, we share the area with the hermanas)

Also there is a lil casears pizza hut burger king complex, so today i was basically in heaven. to my utmost disappointment my stomach has shrinked holy cow i could only barely eat 4 slices of pizza from the hot-n-ready, and i was starving!

Also my experiences has really helped, i really have been correcting some streaks of disobedience, but with love of course

What are everyones shirt sizes? like the whole family?

Shout out to Jacquie for the dope package!!!!!!!!! ive practically inhaled all of the food haha

Change really helps us learn so much! I miss Elder PAz and juticalpa, but the ward is great and I see a lot of potential here!!! The Church really is true, and the Lord blesses us, and helps us lift our loads if we truly seek him and comply with his commandments

Love,
Elder Wagner
